Training Confined Space

Bagikan:

A Confined Space is a space or any space at an enclosed nature where there is a risk of death or serious injury from hazardous conditions. A confined space has few ways in or out and they may be difficult to get into or out of. They are not intended to be occupied by human beings on a regular basis and they may contain a hazardous atmosphere or other recognized safety and health hazard. There are many inherent dangers with work that is carried out in confined spaces and so safety is of paramount importance.

A lack of oxygen which can suddenly occur for several reasons is probably one of the most obvious but there are others too. Poisonous gas or toxic smoke can build up in underground work or it can enter via connecting pipe work or through leaks in things like pits and trenches. Gas and from liquids and solids which can escape when disturbed is another issue as well as the obvious risks of fire and explosion. The Safe Working in Confined Spaces awareness training is designed to provide personnel with the ability to recognize the potential for serious injury when working in Confined Spaces and determine safe methods available to minimize the risks involved.

TRAINING OUTLINE

  • Identification of the plant facility in accordance with the characteristics of Confined Space
  • Management of risk in working in Confine Space
  • Permit to work system relevant to Confined Space
  • Isolation procedure relevancy
  • Definitions and types of hazards
  • Impact of airborne chemicals to the human body; route of entry, exposure standards
  • Gas Testing; Operation of the gas detector, precautions in the operator.
  • Technical Safety; hierarchy of controls, medical issues
  • Developing Rescue Plan
  • Identifying the need of person
